I ran, got elected and served as a Democrat in the Montana State House.
The Montana Democratic Party has deep roots in the rugged soil of our state, a history shaped by Montanans who believed in fairness, opportunity, and community.
From the copper mines of Butte to the wheat fields of the Hi-Line, Democrats have fought for better wages, safer conditions, strong public schools, and access to the healthcare for all.
Nationally, Democrats like FDR, JFK, and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. built a vision rooted in dignity, equality, and opportunity for all. In Montana, that same spirit lived in leaders like Mike Mansfield and Lee Metcalf, who proved that integrity, humility, and public service could still thrive in the halls of power.
Today, we carry that legacy forward with a new generation of leaders focused on practical solutions:
• Supporting public schools and teachers
• Defending Montana's agricultural economy
• Expanding affordable healthcare in our communities
• Creating good-paying jobs and affordable housing to help families stay in Montana
Too often, Democrats are labeled as elitist. In Montana, that’s never been our story.
We’re the party of folks who put in an honest day’s work and expect the same from our leaders.
The Montana Democratic Party is strong across Montana, from our Main Streets to the dusty roads of our farming and ranching lands. I know how strong we are on the ground because I'm showing up in every corner of the state and listening more than talking. I see Montanans joining together to build community and strong support for one another.
I see people come together to recognize the sense of camaraderie in common sense and compassion. Every day, I meet folks staying true to Montana values: honesty, hard work, and looking out for each other. Together, we will continue to build momentum.
Montanans are tired of being ignored by politicians like Steve Daines.
There is power in our party across the state. We harness this power by listening to the people and delivering for them.
I'm a proud Montana Democrat, proud to be building our party across the entire state. Every Montanan deserves representation and this includes every Democrat.
We cannot win in Montana unless we activate people beyond our party. We can do this simply by showing up, something Republicans in Montana don't do for us. I hold round tables every week across the state. I engage in places most people don't expect to see Democrats.
This is how we win, by proudly standing shoulder to shoulder with Montanans in every town, every county and community.
I'm a proud Montana Democrat because I believe our values still matter: that hard work should be honored, that public service is a duty, and that no one should be left behind.
If we don’t win back the House and the Senate in 2026, we will be out of options. This is not the time to wait and see what happens next. The time to act is now. Organize now. Build your networks now. Talk to your neighbors, your unions, your communities now. Every effort counts. Every voice matters. We won’t get a second chance at this.
We can find community as Democrats and build power in Montana and across the nation. We need everyone connected and working together to build power to reinstall democracy in America.
If anyone can do it, Democrats can.
